Howdy kinksters – I hope you’re doing well this week. Several times this week I’ve seen kinksters come together in San Francisco or online and I am encouraged by the many ways I see folks building community right now. We have some great classes coming up for you this year: whether you’re in the San Francisco Bay Area, online, or now in other parts of the western US! If you are in Los Angeles, mark your calendars: Wicked Grounds is launching our first in what will be a regular series of LA classes on Friday, March 20 – Sunday, March 22! Are you in Arizona? Miriam Green will be back to teach with Arizona Power Exchange on the weekend of Saturday, May 30 – Monday, June 1. We’ll have all the details for you in the coming weeks, but if this is of interest you’ll want to note the dates. Howdy kinksters – Dan Savage is not a perfect commentator, but he had one of the best descriptions of keeping balance in challenging political times that I’ve ever read. He said: “During the darkest days of the AIDS crisis, we buried our friends in the morning, we protested in the afternoon, and we danced all night. The dance kept us in the fight because it was the dance we were fighting for. It didn’t look like we were going to win then and we did. It doesn’t feel like we’re going to win now but we could. Howdy all – A very happy new year from your friends at Wicked Grounds! We hope that whatever your journey looks like this year, we can be of service in helping you find the next steps on your own erotic roadmap. I firmly believe that kink and erotic pleasure are two parts of being fully ourselves. These can be part of a larger path of self-awareness and presence. Kink isn’t separate from the rest of our lives! A strong erotic presence can fuel our creativity, passions, and relationships. It’s in this spirit that Wicked Grounds offers an annual Month of Mindfulness to restart each year. Yes, there are a lot of other places that you can practice meditation, journaling, and mindfulness. But — as I discovered almost 15 years ago when co-founding East Bay Meditation Center’s Queer Leather Meditation deep refuge group — few of those spaces allow us to come to the table full as who we are. ​If you’d like to join us this year, it’s not too late. Our first live session is today at 11am Pacific, and early registration (and the chance to use our Boxing Day discount) end tonight.
