Connect with Wicked Grounds this Pride Sunday, in SF or from anywhere!

February 25, 2025 By Miriam Green

Happy Pride!!! It’s very early Sunday morning. I’m sunburned and sleepy from two weekends in a row of Pride, first a very rural Pride weekend in my new home and yesterday at our booth in Leather Alley. Wherever you are, I hope you’ll take pride in yourself, and in your home for kink and sex-positive education. Here are a few ways to connect with us today (and make the most of our 20% off Pride sale!) Find us today at Leather Alley There are two major sections to the adults-only area at Pride. We are in Leather Alley, the educational section run by San Francisco’s Leather Alliance. You’ll see demos and be able to engage with house tops all day. Folsom Street Events also runs a great shopping row along Golden Gate, with a bondage performance state at the other side of the promenade. Three Wicked Grounds managers (events, boutique, and whatever the heck it is I do!) will be on hand to answer your questions about all things WG! Make the most of our 20% off sale! You can use code onlinepride24 to get 20% off literally anything we sell at WickedGrounds.com or WickedGroundsAnnex.com. Here’s what I would spend it on, if I were in your fabulous shoes: Hand-crafted hemp and jute bondage rope. This beautiful rainbow colored flogger from Rough Cut Leather A July class pass, so I could take every single class WG offers in July at one low cost.. Or maybe for 20% off, I’d splurge and get the next 12 months! A consulting package to create my own, personal multi-week exploration with Miriam Green. Sign up for one of our classes! You can find the full list on Forbidden Tickets or Plura. Or, you can check out a growing number of pre-recorded classes at WickedGroundsAnnex.com, and use that onlinepride24 discount. I recommend starting with Diving Deep. Donate to our scholarship fund! We had dozens of young kinksters wistfully ask about classes yesterday, certain they couldn’t afford to engage in kink education and community. Their reaction when they heard we offer scholarships? Pure delight! But that’s where you come in. We can only offer scholarship seats through the generosity of our community. Do you want to make that magic happen? Hope for Monday: a fun fact about dopamine!

February 25, 2025 By Miriam Green

Mondays. Am I right?  Maybe you’re having drop today. Or maybe it’s just the blahs of facing a desk after a relaxing and fun weekend.  Mondays make a mess of us.  But I have some good news from the realm of happiness research.  Your brain produces the neurotransmitter dopamine. It’s a “reward center” for many body functions, including motivation, mood, and attention.  What’s the good news about dopamine? When we do something pleasurable, our brain releases it. But it also releases when you plan something pleasurable. This is why planning a vacation can be almost as pleasurable as going on one.  So if you’re feeling meh today, plan something fun and commit to it.  A few ideas:  Make fun plans for your next date or hangout with friends.  Book your next class or playshop at Wicked Grounds. I have a few great ideas for you!  Make plans to go to your local play party this weekend. If you’re in SF, why wait? Just go to SpankLab tonight!  Set aside some big self-care time. If kink is part of that, consider booking a consult or multi-week intensive with us.  By taking time to do something nice for yourself today, or better yet, plan something nice in the future, you give your brain just a little dopamine. That not only sets off a pleasure reaction for now, but it also puts a bit of wind in your sails by improving your mood, attention, and motivation. Give it a try!  And may we all get through this Monday together.  CheersMir

This Week with Wicked Grounds: First Saturday, Play on the Plaza, and more! (5/2 – 5/12)

February 25, 2025 By Miriam Green

Howdy kinksters – We’re heading into the first weekend of the month, one of my favorite times. That’s when we welcome new kinksters with Welcome to the SF Bay Area Scene and Negotiation Improv. Every month, I watch a batch of brave new kinksters take their first steps into the local scene. Many of them go on to become great friends, community members, and more! Just yesterday, I saw a couple of folks who have taken this class with me in the past three years join our Kink Class Incubator to start teaching. It’s an amazing feeling to watch new generations of kinksters find their footing. I rarely offer this class online because it’s so Bay Area specific, but every one in a while I offer an online version of the class to help kinksters nationally connect with their own local scenes. If you’re one of our non-SF readers, mark your calendars! I’ll be teaching this class on Thursday, June 13th as an online class for Plura! And as we go into the first week of May, a reminder that the best way to get a lot of classes is to get a monthly event pass. Read on for an update on this week’s events! Events Roundup! Thinking ahead Ever struggled with feelings of being “too” much this or “not enough” that as you explore your queer identity? Believe it or not, this is very common and most of us have been there! Join us in June for Stepping Into Pride a six-week online workshop to develop our own personal values, goals and identities within the LGBTQ+ community. We’ve also just set the dates for our fall Diving Deep cohort, and early ticketing is open now. Find out more here. Thursday, May 2 D/s relationships or dynamics are inherently based on difference. Though we intentionally seek out differences in power and role, how do we navigate differences in religion and spirituality? In Interfaith D/s, we’ll first look at principles of interfaith work. Next we’ll think about how this work shows up in our D/s relationships and dynamics, including how to be allies to those of other faiths. Last, we’ll explore “cross over” moments when we can all show up in the fullness of our faith (or lack thereof.) Join us tonight online at 6pm Pacific for Interfaith D/s with Ev Evnen. Both individuals and partner groups and D-types and S-types are welcome to attend. Advance ticketing required. Get yours here! Friday, May 3 No classes today, but you can always check out our video class Private Joy: Sadomasochism for Solo and Distance Play on your own time! Saturday, May 4 If you’re interested in exploring the public BDSM scene in San Francisco, today is your day! Join us at our space in downtown San Francisco for Welcome to the Scene from noon – 2pm. Miriam Green will give you all the information you need to explore, understand and navigate San Francisco’s kink scene, including information about culture, etiquette, reputable groups, specific subcultures, and even how to navigate a play party. Advance ticketing strongly recommended. Get yours here! And to navigate the scene effectively, you’ll need excellent negotiation skills. To develop those, stick around for Negotiation Improv with Wiley Elote from 2:30 – 4pm. Details & ticketing here. And it looks like our friends at AfterDark in San Francisco are bringing back the Taboo party tonight at Stopgap, so you might want to check that out! Details & ticketing here. Sunday, May 5 Sometimes feel like you’re the only one facing your joys and challenges as a submissive Wicked Grounds invites you to a monthly discussion group just for submissives and switches who would like to discuss submission. This is a dominant-free zone to connect with, support, and build solidarity with fellow submissives in the scene. Join us today at 11:30am in San Francisco for Submissives in Solidarity, a submissives’ discussion and support group from Wicked Grounds. Advance ticketing recommended; get yours here. At this moment, we offer the submissives’ discussion group just in San Francisco, but if there’s interest in having one available online, please email me and we’ll give it a look! Back by popular demand, please join us for Erotic Movement with Alexandria from Click Your Heels at 2pm Pacific at Mukunda Studios in SOMA, San Francisco. If you’ve ever thought sensual dancing looked fun and you want to try, this is your chance! You don’t have to be skinny or feminine to have fun and feel sexy! No experience needed! Erotic Movement is all the amazing sensuous movement used by pole dancers between tricks, burlesque/boylesque performers, pop stars, and go-go dancers everywhere! It is easily adapted to express your personal style, your mood, any type of music, and any body. These classes tend to sell out, so we recommend getting tickets in advance. Monday, May 6 Curious about the various forms of ethical non-monogamy? Join Laura Boyle of Ready for Polyamory for tonight’s online class: Relationship Anarchy Applied. This online class starts at 6pm Pacific/ 9pm Eastern. Details & ticketing here! In the SF Bay Area? Want a fun, accessible way to explore impact play (or maybe just access to a dungeon for two hours of light play?!). Join us tonight for Wicked Grounds Presents: SpankLab with impossiblepain. We’ve moved this monthly playshop to Stopgap for a vastly improved set of spanking benches, St. Andrew’s crosses, and other play areas. Whether you’re brand new to impact play or you want to practice your skills toward mastery, join us at 7pm. Advance ticketing required to get the address. Get yours here! Tuesday, May 7 No scheduled classes today, but take a moment to check out our pre-recorded class Diving Deep: Discovering & Voicing Your Kink Desires with **Miriam Green! Download once, and take at your own pace as many times as you like. Wednesday, May 8 Sex magick can be a mixed bag for progressive, kinky and queer folks. If you’ve felt alienated from the whole idea of “fertility magick,” kink-aware witch Diana Rajchel has got you covered. Join us online at 6pm Pacific for Alternative Fertility Magick, to explore a
