Many kink practitioners who work with traumatic experiences through kink recognize the territory but often lack the language to describe it. Some leave a scene feeling steadier\, while others feel more shaken\, largely because no one ever taught them how to name the processes they just went through. People have been working through difficult emotions in kink for a long time\, and research is only now beginning to catch up. \nThis class brings together community insight and current research tidbits to offer a clearer picture of the patterns\, mechanics\, and meanings people often find in trauma play. Without idealizing or pathologizing the practice\, it provides a space to look closely at something many people know intimately and want to finally understand. Join us for a kinky deep-dive\, with plenty of time for questions and chit-chat! \nPRESENTER: \nAidan Sunassee (he/him) is a certified sexologist\, educator\, researcher\, and active member of the kink community. His facilitation style is trauma-aware\, grounded in inclusive practices\, and informed by both personal experience and academic research. He is dedicated to bridging the gap between academic knowledge and lived experience\, creating spaces where community voices are centered\, respected\, and empowered. Aidan is affiliated with the APA Division 44 Taskforce on Kink and BDSM\, serves on the board and research team of TASHRA\, and teaches with the Center for Positive Sexuality. His independent research explores how pleasure and power exchange intersect with healing in kink spaces and dynamics. Beyond his research\, he has developed and led community education programs on kink\, consent\, trauma awareness\, and ethical non-monogamy. \nAt the core of his approach is a belief that academic knowledge and lived truth must meet and challenge each other. \nTICKETING: \n$30 suggested. SUMMARY:ONLINE: Trauma-Informed Age Play: Through the Lens of Care and Caution with Draven
DESCRIPTION:This series will explore the 4C’s of trauma-informedness (Compassion\, Consent\, Care\, and Caution) to understand the cultural and historical aspects of harm done to those who are child-like. In each of the workshops\, we will dive into trauma-informedness. \nYou may attend all workshops or just one\, it is up to you! These workshops are interconnected but can be attended individually. \nThis is the third in the series\, the other two are 2/9: https://forbiddentickets.com/events/wicked-grounds/c9d6dba8c1 \nAnd 2/23:\nhttps://forbiddentickets.com/events/wicked-grounds/854ca21176 \nIn the first workshop\, we looked at age play through the lens of compassion\, exploring historical pathologies\, aspects of age play\, and how we can be compassionate with others and ourselves. \nThe second workshop will explore the concept of the complexity of consent within age play. Consent is critical to develop trauma-informed relationships with those who play as a younger age and their caregivers. We will explore how to live a consensual life within an adultist/sanist society. \nThe third workshop will highlight the importance of care and caution within age-play dynamics\, whether that’s individually\, dually\, or in a group setting. In this final workshop\, we will integrate all aspects of trauma-informedness together to understand the importance of connecting with community for a healthy life. \nINSTRUCTOR: \nDraven is a Trauma-Informed Sexuality Educator with Dynamic Education and Counseling and a Ph.D. in Human Sexuality student at the California Institute of Integral Studies. From a playful and authentic base\, Draven weaves research and stories to teach individuals how to process one’s trauma with themselves while being supported by a therapist. While teaching\, they knit stories in to include intersectional identities and how oppressive systems affect individuals and communities. As a Trauma-Informed Sexuality Educator\, Draven coaches neurodivergent individuals/couples/polycules\, provides trauma processing groups and conducts a variety of workshops on healthy sexuality.
