DESCRIPTION:Negotiating is a critical skill for building BDSM scenes\, dynamics and relationships that work. But negotiating doesn’t necessarily come naturally — especially for those of us who are just entering the kink scene. \nJoin us for a Kink 101 session on how to negotiate for exactly what you want in the BDSM scene and relationships. We’ll talk about: \n\nNegotiation styles\nPre-scene negotiations\nHow to negotiate without killing the mood\nChecking in during and after the scene\nNegotiating and check-ins for ongoing BDSM dynamics\n\nDrawing on what we know about the psychology of a scene\, we’ll learn how to negotiate as partners toward a BDSM style that is hotter\, more fun\, and more powerful for all partners in a dynamic.This series welcomes all genders\, orientations\, and dynamic styles. This workshop is designed for newcomers to BDSM but is open to anyone who wants new tools to improve their BDSM communications. \nPRESENTER: \nMiriam Green has been in the public kink scene for over one dozen years in the Austin\, Houston and San Francisco scenes. SUMMARY:ONLINE: Consent\, Accountability\, and Neurodivergence with Adam
DESCRIPTION:How does neurodivergence affect consent mistakes\, incidents\, and violations? How does it affect boundaries\, grappling with hurt and harm (and discerning between the two)\, and accountability at the personal\, interpersonal\, and community levels? \nIn this participatory workshop\, we will dive into these questions with case studies and real-life examples. We’ll look through a trauma- and disability justice-informed lens\, and talk about common patterns\, subjective interpretations\, ascriptions\, and communication–based on neurotypes\, socialization\, and lived experience. There will be opportunities for community members to share their experiences. \nINSTRUCTOR: \nAdam is a community organizer\, mediator\, consent educator\, and ongoing learner. Their passions lie at the intersections of disability justice\, trauma-informed care\, consent\, embodied somatics\, and responses to and prevention of harm – including transformative justice and community accountability. They desire to help people play and communicate in safer\, skillful ways that are trauma-\, power-\, and risk-informed. Adam is an educator with several groups including The Consent Academy advocating for consent from the individual level to the systemic.
