Sometimes they’re not\, which frequently leads to more harm. \nJoin us for a look at a new way to deal with consent violations that works to support the person harmed\, foster accountability for the person who did the harm\, and manage the response for the community at large–including transforming the conditions that allowed harm to arise. \nConsent Academy is an educational collective founded in 2016 in Seattle\, WA\, currently with staff and volunteers all over the world. We believe consent is a part of everyday life\, and its practice builds stronger\, safer\, and more connected communities. Our approach incorporates disciplines of psychology\, sociology\, public health\, psychotherapy\, and personal coaching to create a systemic view of how consent impacts everyone\, from the bedroom to the boardroom. \nINSTRUCTORS: \nAdam is a community organizer\, mediator\, consent educator\, and ongoing learner. Their passions lie at the intersections of disability justice\, trauma-informed care\, consent\, embodied somatics\, and responses to and prevention of harm – including transformative justice and community accountability.
