SUMMARY:ONLINE: Dealing with Drop with Miriam Green
DESCRIPTION:Sub drop. Top drop. “A case of the Mondays.” \nWhatever we call it\, post-scene drop is frustrating\, irritating\, and isolating. It often makes us question — at least in the moment — what was otherwise an awesome scene. \nWhat is this awful mood we fall into after a scene\, and what the heck can we do about it? \nIn this class\, Miriam Green will draw on what we know about the neuropsychology of BDSM to help us better understand drop\, and build strategies for resilience when we face it. We’ll talk about: \n\nCommon misconceptions about drop\nWhat’s going on in the mind\, brain and body\nMind-body strategies for before\, during and after the scene to help us bounce back\nHow to change our narrative to avoid making drop worse\nThe best ways to effectively communicate after a scene — for good scenes and bad\n\nYou’ll come away with better self-understanding and a self-care toolkit to draw on when drop comes calling. Join us! \nPRESENTER: \nMiriam Green has been in the public kink scene for over twenty years in the Austin\, Houston\, and San Francisco scenes. They teach a series of KINK 101 classes on the SF kink community\, BDSM negotiations\, and dating while kinky. They also are the owner of Wicked Grounds. \nTICKETING: \nhttps://forbiddentickets.com/events/wicked-grounds/95399eca57

SUMMARY:ONLINE: Your Kink Is Not My Kink - But Is Your Kink OK? with Sir Panda
DESCRIPTION:The guideline of “Your Kink Is Not My Kink” (YKINMK) has become foundational in the sex positive and BDSM communities as the standard for acceptance of diversity – and as the gold standard to avoid shaming. But what happens when we struggle with another’s kink\, to the point of becoming judgmental\, disturbed\, or even triggered? \nThis class will review types of play (including edge play) that might “squick” or trigger us\, and why. We’ll examine how to overcome our own biases\, discuss what to report and what not to report\, and how to reach the tolerance of Your Kink Is OK. \nPRESENTER: \nSir-Panda (he/him) is a polyamorous Dominant living in the Kansas City metro area. He has been a kink educator since he began teaching consent and BDSM basics at Seattle’s Center for Sex Positive Culture in 2011. He has taught for Fetish Con\, Leather Reign\, the Kink Center\, Pragmatic Kink\, Wicked Grounds\, and the Venusian Society. He especially focuses on the mental and relationship aspects of kink and polyamory\, drawing on over 30 years of experience and a passion for research. \nSir Panda is a Certified Professional Life Coach\, an Accredited Relationship Coach\, a Mental Health First Aider\, a consent advocate\, and a member of the Social Psychology Network. Find him on FetLife as Sir-Panda or Instagram and Substack as RealSirPanda. To learn more or to book a coaching session\, please visit www.dsoutreach.com. \nTICKETING: \n$30 suggested.
