SUMMARY:ONLINE: Consent\, Accountability\, and Neurodivergence: A Two Part Series with Adam
DESCRIPTION:How does neurodivergence affect consent – including mistakes\, incidents\, and violations? How does it affect boundaries\, grappling with hurt and harm (and discerning between the two)\, and accountability at the personal\, interpersonal\, and community levels? \nIn this participatory two part workshop\, we will dive into these questions with case studies and real-life examples. We’ll look through a trauma- and disability justice-informed lens\, and talk about common patterns\, subjective interpretations\, ascriptions\, and communication-based on neurotypes\, socialization\, and lived experience. We will make space for embodied activities and create plenty of room for community members to share their experiences. \nPRESENTER: \nAdam is a community organizer\, mediator\, conflict transformation facilitator\, kink and consent educator\, and ongoing learner. Their passions lie at the intersections of disability justice\, neurodivergence accessibility\, trauma-informed care\, consent\, embodied somatics\, harm reduction\, and systems transformation. They desire to help people relate in safer\, skillful ways that are trauma-\, power-\, and risk-informed. Adam has been an educator with several groups including The Consent Academy\, advocating for consent from the individual level to the systemic. They do consent and accountability work in many contexts and community spaces\, from organizing spaces to the sex+ world. DESCRIPTION:“Electro Play from the Bottom” is an exploration of the wide variety of sensations and pain that can be inflicted using electricity. The instructor\, pangressive (he/they)\, will be bottoming\, assisted by demo top Addy (she/her). pangressive will explain the similarities and differences of a wide range of electro toys\, and will describe what they feel like. He will endure a violet wand\, zappers\, cattle prod\, flyswatter\, shock collars (not applied to the neck)\, a TENS unit\, and a hand-crank magneto generator box that he built himself out of a WWII field telephone. If he’s still verbal after all that torture\, he will share some data and home science investigations on the effect of electric current on human body resistance and the changes in pain perception that correlate with changes in body resistance. \nPRESENTER: \npangressive (he/they)\, a bottom-leaning switch\, is the host of Current Events\, the Bay Area’s electro munch. They are also the host of BABKA (Bay Area Bi/Pan Kinky Alliance) and co-host of P6 (Partially Prenegotiated Pansexual Prison Play Party)\, a private group that produces group CNC/free use scenes. pangressive has been in the kink scene since 2001\, when he walked into Seattle’s storied former dungeon club The Wet Spot and said he wanted to get beaten up.
